My sister Cathy is experiencing an amazing amount of pain....legs, neck and back. She is up crying at night because of the pain. If you are an ALS patient, do you have pain? If you are the caretaker or family of a PALS, are you dealing with this part of ALS? I was reading a professional journal in our pharmacy, and the article mentioned to pharmacists that pain in PALS is real and they better take heed. It did not mention what kind of medication to use. My sister has tried quinine, neurontin, baclofen...I think that is all. The only thing that takes the edge off is ibuprofen.
Oh, she does get in the pool with a floatation belt and moves around. That is when she feels best. She feels like her ALS has gone away when she is in the pool. There she does her therapy too. Let me know what you all think. Thanks, Barb Posted on 08/08/09, 10:08 pm |
