" I saw the report and it was somewhat disappointing. If you would like to see/read the report you can go to CBSnew.com. I found it at the bottom of the page, I believe it was under health. The report basically was saying about how they are taking skin cells from both pALS and healthy individuals and putting them into petrie dishes. In turn, the skin cells are transformed into embrionic stem cells that are not coming from embryos. The researchers are then able to study the cells and see what happens to them in ALS people. This in turn could lead to a cure. Not soon enough for so many. Also, today, July 4th, many MLB games are having Lou Gerhig tributes as this is the 70th anniversary for him. A full listing of the games and times can be found on ALS.net which will take you to ALS/TDI's web site. They are a leader in ALS research and promoter of today's anniversary. "

" Hi I have seen where they were doing the 70th anniversary on the 4th of July, ironically I lost my dad to bulbar onset ALS that very day. He had been diagnosed about a year and a half before he passed away. The Dr's say he had it for 26 months that they can see. I truly do pray they do come up with a cure so no one will have to suffer the way my dad and so many more people do or did everyday. God Bless anyone stricken with or caring for someone with ALS. "
