If you "enter" the site where it says for amputees to enter you will see they come in 3 different sizes
short (12") $25 regular (17") $30 Long (20" $33 The model on their site is a BK so you can see what they would look like on a BKA.

If your speaking about adding the artificial skin coverings I say do when the time is right. When your leg has shrunk down and your socket isn't changing every couple of months the skin make you feel normal agin I think. I have both legs covered. I hope this helps.

I believe the word you guys are looking for is -- COSMESIS
a Sleeve is just a cloth covering a Cosmesis is something that resembles the missing human body part. Or in an amputees caase a something that covers your prosthesis to make it look like the miss part.

Sleeveart has been around for a years. The dr that makes my leg has been doing it for years.
He also does covers for your socket that you can design yourself and then the sleeve fits between the socket and the socket covering (which is just a hard shell of the socket). I designed my own socket because it means alot to me and everyone can see it. Most drs that make artifical limbs should be quite capable of doing this themselves. Then you do not have to pay extra or order it. Mine was covered with the cost of my leg. As in the sight you can go to any fabic store and by the lycra material and take it to your dr if they do not have any patterns you like.

Well I guess I just couldn't see putting more weight and something else to look after on my leg. I gave my prosthetist a bandana from my favorite band and it's going to be covering my socket, which will be jet black. I think that women would be more concerned especially with wearing stockings and dresses. I don't know, I never really did any research on it because I just never thought about the flesh colored covering. I have no leg, and to me it doesn't matter if people see it, I'm okay with the "metallic" look.

ROOT728, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU. CHECK OUT WHAT THE ARTIFICIAL SKIN LOOKS LIKE. I HATE IT. I AM NOT MUCH WORRIED ABOUT WHAT THE PROSTHETIC LOOKED LIKE AND MY HUSBAND SAID IT LOOKED LIKE IT CAME FROM A JUNK YARD, LOL, ANYWAY, THE PROSTHETIST SAID NOT TO WORRY, THAT THE ARTIFICIAL SKIN WOULD BE PUT ON. WELL, IT ONLY COVERS THE METEL BETWEEN THE FOOT AND GOES ABOUT HALFWAY UP. IT LOOKS AWFUL. I AM GOING TO GET THE COVERING. AND THANKS TIGER FOR ALL YOUR INPUT. YOU KNOW YOU ARE A REAL SMART PERSON. I AM GOING TO ASK "YOU" BEFORE I LET THEM DO ANYTHING TO ME. THANKS ALL OF YOU
