Bioquest Perfect Stride II X3

Hello Bioquest Perfect Stride II X3 users.

I'm going to be demo-ing a Bioquest Perfect Stride II X3. I should be getting the foot next week. I'm excited to finally be able to demo this foot but I'm a little concerned about selecting the Perfect Stride foot as my new prosthetic foot because my prosthetist said that his office has seen a few of them break within the last couple of months. I think they were all the new model (the X3) without the cable on the back of them. All of the feet broke in approximately the same place, where the metal curves around.

Has anyone else had a Perfect Stride foot break or do you know of any problems with them?

Thanks.

" I just got a new leg and tried the PSII foot. I used it for three weeks and then switched it for an Otto Bock Trias to see how they compared. As soon as I put on the Trias, I told the prosthetist to send the PS back. It was *much* heavier and I couldn't see any increased functionality that would justify that kind of weight. "

" ValkF6 --- you use the manual Harmony pump that weighs like 5lbs all by itself, i can see how a heavier foot might be an issue for you but if you have a pin system or a MUCH MUCH lighter vacuum system then the weight of the foot is not that big an issue. -- Also Mitchee asked if anyone had a PS2x3 break or other defective issues , she didn't ask if you liked it.

Mitchee -- I've had zero issues with the foot and I've had my foot for a year and half now. The 6 other people I know using the the PS2 also still love it and none of them have had any issues with breakage or delamination. "

" I agree with Tiger. I have been using the PS2 X3 for a year now and have had zero issues with it. Of all the feet that I have tried out the PS2 X3 has the best range of motion, making it easy to go up and down stairs, inclines and declines as well as uneven ground. "

" I am an AK and have the PS2X3 since 9/08 and have had no problems with it. I have had multiple problems with my knee --- which any part that you buy comes with a warranty of x amount of yrs, so if you do run into problems with it, you can always get a new one. Don't be afraid to "yell & scream" loud enuf at the company you are buying your foot from if you have problems....remember - you ARE the customer! "

" Thanks for the replies! Your positive experiences with the PS2X3 have put my mind at ease. I'm looking forward to trying the new foot next week. I'll keep you posted on how I like it.

Thanks again for the replies.

" Tiger, you've been a great salesman for the Perfect Stride II foot here and elsewhere, I hope you're getting a commission on each sale. I decided to try the foot as a result of a couple of threads you've participated in.

I played ten rounds of golf on it and couldn't see any improvement over my previous Ceterus foot, and the extra weight was a killer. Considering the extra cost (which I had to pay), I sent it back.

These discussions about what's best remind me of the old days arguing about Ford vs. Chevy. A lot of products are very good, your choice comes down to personal preference. And what you've tried and what you haven't. There's no absolute best foot for everyone.

Finally, if you're a moderator here, feel free to critique whether my comments belong in the thread or not. If not, just ignore what you don't like. "

" Valk -- I'm just an advocate for good products and not sales pitches by people who DO get kickbacks for selling certain products over others.

Also the PS2 is actually a couple ounces lighter than the Ceterus AND if you are a golfer I'd stick with the Ceterus as it allows your foot/ankle to pivot in the planted position where as the PS2 will not. "

" I'm guessing that the vastly superior attachment of an elevated vacuum socket is overcoming the fact that I no longer have a leg that will pivot around a planted foot. I'm hitting the ball better than ever and getting my weight through to the left side much more completely. "
