Hi. I am an AK amputee that has gotten a new leg built within the last year. I have the Plie knee made by Freedom Innovations. I am wondering who else out there is wearing this knee and how well you like it. I am also interested to know if you have had ANY problems with it and how satisfied you are with Freedom Innovation's customer service.

I know that Kinzy902 and Robogirl both are using the Plie'. Kinzy just recently left DS but I do know that she has had issues with the knee. She had a "whooshing" noise issue and a program issue on her first knee, Freedom took it back and fixed it, it came back better but not "fixed". She had to return the knee one other time and she meet personally with the Freedom rep in her area about the issues and he exchanged her knee on the spot for one he had with him. -- Freedom has been good about doing work on/with the knee but I know they haven't given out much if any information as to what was wrong with the knee or what/if anything was done when they did have it for repairs.
I know Robogirl has had the knee since it first came out and before it was called the Plie' -- but she can speak for herself :0).

With anything new there are issues (I had one of first C-legs in the U.S. and it was "sent back to Austria" for repairs a few times!). Any issues I've had with the Plie' have been dealt with quickly by Freedom. I have no complaints about their customer service, and I prefer the Plie' (for my lifestyle) over any other microprocessor knee. If you have any specific questions, PM me and I'll answer them if I can. :-)

I have had a Plie knee since last December. The problems I have had is with the air system. I have to pump it up a lot. Every week on average. I do not know if this is normal. As I live in Asia, it is hard to for me to get regular service but I will check with my prosthetist when I am in Canada next month. Other then that it has worked fairly well.

my husband has the plie knee for over a year now and it has never worked well. it is always freezing on him - they give him a loner while they fix it but then within a few weeks of him wearing it freezes on him. Freedom has been good about doing the work on it. this last time we thought it was better than ever but after a month it was not bending. He is thinking about going back to his mechanical knee.

I have had experience with Plie' for some of my patients.
The problems we have had were- Inconsistancey, Chirping noice and knee locking on a patient of mine. The customer service is good thou. Freeedom will try their best to resolve the issues. Also since the knee is fairly new, it might be a little while before it is well tweaked. If you have additional questions, you can write to me at vikchicago@gmail.com. Thanks Vikram
