Tattoo looking prosthesis

We were looking in a magazine once and saw this cool leg that looked like it had a tattoo on it. My husbands prosthetic guy said he could do it,by wrapping fabric over the leg and then a clear fiber glass. Does anyone have this, like it and have pics to share. We thought it was neat.

" I haven't had it done as of yet, but will likely get a new socket in a year or so and will have the Denver Broncos logo on it. I saw a guy with some John Deere tractors on his socket. It's great for getting kids to go along a bit more from what I understand and that makes sense if they get a chance to personalize it and invested in it. I think it's neat! "

" I was interested to, but I am having the suction type socket, so they said the outer sleeve will fold down and cover 90% of the design :-( "

" Dennis mentioned the sleeve he got (I got one too) at Fred's legs. They also have artwork your prosthetist can apply directly to your socket (laminate?)! Kevin "

" The place that does my leg said they could take anything that was on a t shirt, and laminate it to the socket. My socket is like the one that pumpedup is talking about. You can only see the bottom 3-4 inches. Mine is carbon fiber,so it looks cool enough. "

" to do this all you need is the material/pattern you want and the prosthetist can do it at his shop when he laminates the socket. at least that is how we have done it. I am working on a project for custom graphics not only for the socket but I will be able to do all solid pieces other than the knee on an AK due to the microprocessors and electronics. I will make a post once everything is all squared away and post pics of samples. i will keep everyone posted. "

" I had a sleeve made that goes over my suspension sleeve. I sent www.Fredslegs.com some pix that I like to replace the 4 tatts that were tossed away when they took my leg.
I am now having a pin system made and I will definately have a desing put on that:-)

It is how each one of us expresses ourselves as individuals :-D

" This is what I did to mine. There are also graphics on the back. One of Ray Tanner (baseball) and the other of Steve Spurrier (football) both South Carolina head coaches

" That is exactly how I had mine done. I've had 2 sockets done like this, they turned out great. Was looking for an updated race car for a 3rd socket. Couldn't find a shirt with a small enough pic to fit the socket, so I found the pic I wanted and took it where they do screen printing. They took a pic of it, downloaded it on the computer, printed it and put it on a child's tee. Turned out perfect and right size for socket, it wraps all the way around. They only charged 7.00 . I love it. "
