for September 24..the day after his birthday and a year after his motorcycle accident. He's had 9 surgeries to try to save his leg and has decided his life is too restricted with what he's got. He has four kids, no insurance, no Medicaid and SSDI has turned him down. He is acutally dealing well with it all and has even started a t-shirt business on Zazzle selling funny amputee tshirts. I, on the other hand, am not doing as well. I worry constantly about him and his family and how they will make it. I have looked all over the web for support groups for parents of amputees and found none. Are any of you aware of any groups available for me to talk with? I would appreciate any help you could give me.

" Hi
Don't give up on SSD or Med i Cade, if you haven't already get a Lawer that deals in SSD only, they won't charge you until your approved and they can only get so much out of you, other words they can't over charge you. When you are approved for SSD then Medacade will pay your bills. They might have too sumit your case more then one time so don't give up.

" Don't give up on the Social Security Disability, they get so many applications that they often turn down deserving people just because they're swamped. The old saying the squeaky wheel gets the grease applies here; KEEP SQUEAKING! "

" I've started a support group for moms, dads, friends, and family of amputees here because I couldn't find any, anywhere. If you have folks who need support, send them over. So far there's only 2 of us...myself and another Mom who's 8 y.o. daughter will have her leg amputation the day before my son. I could use some more support right now....having panic attacks.

" Carol
Please take it easy, everything will be all right. We can take it better than our relatives. Children normally handle it beter than adults do. I have went thru a very radical amputation surgery (translumbar amputaitoin). I am getting better, but still having problems at times. You will come thru this time just fine. and you will be a better person for it. If you would like to talk just end me an e-mail. legless55@yahoo.com. I will be happy to talk with you.
I will be praying for all of you. "
