" Calib man, I just wish I knew of the right kind of advise to give you, but I am kind of like you with mean pain that will not go away... If the Docs told me that to get rid of my pain I would have to have both arms and both legs cut off, I would probably say "DO IT" because I can't take rough pain month after month, even though I'm doing it... I'm not that much of a religious person Calib, but if I were, I know that I would be getting every possible kind of prayer that I could muster up and have them all sent for you...The best to ya Kid.... VERN .... "

" Help us - help you. What started all this. Were you hurt badly in some kind of accident. Where is the pain coming from? What part of your body. On a very general level - I had severe pain in my ankle from a tractor crush injury/partial amputation and yes, I did find a surgeon who agreed my life was going downhill and he agreed to do the surgery. Hey, if it is elective and you agree to do it, most good sugeons will see your goal and do what you ask. There may be no other option as you suggest. Many people told me I would never find a surgeon either - the first guy I went to was very reputable orthopedic surgeon and I had his concurrence in 30 minutes. He did tell me that it was MY decision not his and that it was not reversable. So before you go to this extrememe, you need to find out what life is like post surgery. It is no picnic either. You could be in a wheelchair for life if you could not manage two artificial legs. Also, no picnic but likely you would sleep at night. I am not offering you a solution, just ideas worth exploring and again, we all need more info to understand your situation. "

" ok...i was premature due to my birth mom being on ALOT of drugs...born with cerebral palsy(only in my lower legs), double hernia, strabismus, some pain, and a hole in my heart(which fixed itself..i just have a minor murmer when i stress or am in alot of pain)...first memorys of my dad i have are of him raping and beating me....hes busted my jaw and L4 L5 S1(docters did MRI and said it couldnt be causing my pain and surgery if anything would make life worse: fusion or other)...my dad also most likely caused my RSD/Complex regional pain syndrome..then my mom was emotionally abusive..left home before 18 lived with a pedo being a house boy for a while n bounced round the streets...n at school i used to get the shit kicked out of me literally....ive only been in a wheelchair 3 years and ive been threw all the pain meds and pain trials n tests and they just say get the amputation...i know other people with similar problems that are getting or have gotten the amputation(s) and are happy with it aswell as read research papers and talked with docters and surgeons and amputees and i am 100% confident with my decision...one of the places ive lived i was also abused and had a cathetor yanked out (while its inflated) and got MRSA in my kidneys so the idea of continueing fentynl patches and dilauded or opana injections 3+ times a day..isnt appealing especially since CRPS can move threw your body if you cant do PT..it usually has to be fixed early on...mines at the point they cant do anything and i blackout alot from pain...they say my pain meter will be pegged at 10/10 no matter what unless i do something drastic..and i cant live like this...especially since we looked at pain pumps and electric stimulus and its not an option.....anyways thanks all "
