Index finger amputation

I recently amputated my left index finger accidentally with a table saw. I now have 2 options- either a prosthesis which will only be for cosmetic purposes or a ray amputation which will give me more function but decrease my hand strength by 20%. I am a registered nurse and function is very important to me. Anyone out there that has had this procedure? I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Lori that sounds like a big decision to make. I personally don't know what a ray amputation is, but I do have an online friend that had one on her toe because of a tumor. Let me know if you are interested in talking with her and I'll try to put you in touch. Best of luck to you.
