I'm new here, and among all the effects of traumatic events in my life, this has been one I have somewhat avoided focusing on for a while.

I was hit by a car in 2007, and due to that, don't remember much of my life preceding the accident, and much for months after. There are obvious reasons for my discomfort and unhappiness with the facts stated, as with ones you'll find in my profile.

When I was first home from the hospital, and for much time after, it was not entirely believed by others that I had amnesia. My sisters thought I was lying, others thought I was pushing it, and making it seem or sound worse than it was. Since then, they've come to know the truths of the extent of my forgotten time. I don't remember much of my 16 years before the accident, and it's hard.

Some memories have returned, much more than I first thought, but most is still not there. I do not long for the return of all memories anymore, but from time to time when I think about it, it still hurts greatly.

I still feel guilty sometimes when talking with friends, or family, and they mention something enjoyable or meaningful that happened, and I draw a blank.

I just wanted to get that out.
