obsessive eating

While I was outside with the grandkids this afternoon, Ron got in the fridge and ate an entire jar of Cheez Whiz. I had just opened it to put a little on some crackers for the kids.

Needless to say - we had the "bomb" about an hour ago. He is just eating everything he can get his hands on, and in copious amounts.

I just ordered a refrigerator lock off Ebay, and am going to Walmart now to get cupboard locks as well. This eating thing is just scary.

I tell ya... if it ain't one thing... it's 10 others.

" Oh, poor baby!

My husband's wedding ring needed a repair, one of the prongs, so we brought it to a jeweler yesterday and if I were to say that he has asked my 200 times where his ring I wouldn't be exaggerating! "

" Cheez Whiz, oh no. I am so sorry. No one should have to deal with what you are. I would be tempted to order handcuffs for him to slow down what he can get his hands on. Just kidding, and it is no kidding matter. How about more sedation for him?

Last night mamob and I and then Richardmoderate came up with the idea for a new and looser site for games. It is a part of Daily Strength, listed under games and called Take It Easy. I have never been an administrator before but am learning as I go.
The reason some misspelled words are there is that the site has no edit. One must delete the entire post and any following it to make a correction. Now we know. I know you are swamped but if you could take 10 min. to look it over and give me feedback and suggestions for ways to make it more fun and/or new game ideas I would be pleased. This is helping my sanity. A brief respite.

Take care of yourself. I hope you put yourself and your needs into your day somehow. You are my role model. I figure if you can go all the way I can.

" I almost feel like I should congradulate you that he is still eating since it seems more the norm for them to stop wanting to eat and to lose their appitite...
That story reminds me of when I was a kid, about three years old, and my mom worked until very late at night...after we got home she accidently got locked out of the house and had to have the firemen come let her back in and during that time I ate a whole pound of cheese...had an uncle who worked at bordens at that time...still have this tendency to want to eat all the cheese I can get my hands on. " Good Morning,
I have heard a lot of stories about Alzs people eatting but, never like Ron's. Most of the time they stop eatting or at least so down. What are his eating habits at meal time? You would think with that much cheese he wouldn't poop for a month. It is scary.
I am so sorry. I hope your day goes better than yesterday.
Isn't nice to have your grandchildren around to make our lives a little normal. "

" Thanks, Glenda. I will google.

I went to the Dr this morning for me, and asked about ron's eating.
She said it was a puzzle to her as the norm is to stop eating.

She was going to call a friend who is a shrink and pick her brain. Said she would give me a call next week. "

" My mum ate non stop. She would eat then forget she had eaten and them eat again. I think it was probably one of the few things she could enjoy still. Part of my mothers eating issue was that she thought she was very young again when food was scare so she had to eat what she could when she could as she did not know where the next meal was coming from. Right up to the end she ate and ate. We did not mind as she was very thin, Katie xx "
