For the last 2 or 3 days.. almost every time I am on DS I get an IM
from young people (20-24) from other countries. I have not responded to any of them and am skeptical about what is going on. I thought only your friends could see if you were online here. Is this happening to any of you ? Posted on 10/31/09, 07:10 pm |

No, I' ve never had that happen although I've gotten lots of messages from younger people do to some areas where I am or was active...In your place I'd be so curious about what they wanted....

I am curious but am not going to reply. Just can't imagine what a 20 yr old from Saudia Arabia, or 23 yr old from Guana could have in common with me. I looked at their profiles and all have become members withing the last 10 days. Still can't figure out
how they can IM me. Still feel really sick. Take tylenol .. fever goes down but never away. I take Mucinex DM at bedtime. It keeps the coughing down and I sleep better. My daughter's Dr said to just treat the symptoms for now. Her kids are feeling better today, so maybe by tomorrow I may too.

Now that you mentioned they were from foreign countries I recall a friend getting IM's or messages about a year ago from young people in other countries and it sounded like some kind of scam, can't remember now what the deal was but it was like they were looking for older people (women) who would be more susceptible to sob stories and part with money or something along those lines.
As far as talking to young people goes I do have many young friends on Facebook, some are local people my daughter grew up with but others are friends I made online, one young man who is right around my daughters age has been my friend for over a dozen years and I've watched him grow up on the net. I sure hope you are feeling better, please let us know how your doing....

I;m kind of thinking scam as well.. and something along those lines.
I, have some younger friends as well, but this randomness is just off. Feeling better today. I have my little grandson here today. We are going to play Hungry, Hungry Hippos when he finishes the building he is making with blocks. I'm very tired and wrung out.. but no temp or headache. Thanks to everyone for all the good wishes.
