" I had a 2 day break, feel like I might make it now. ha haTruthfully I need at least a day a week. Me and 3 friends went to Nashville, Tn. It is just a couple hrs away. We saw loretta Lynns ranch, Conway Twittys mansion, and went on a bus tour of stars homes. Had a lot of laughs. Thank you gals fors pulling for me. You are tops!! "

" Every Tuesday I have a care giver come in for 5 hours to care for Mother. I've been doing this for 3 years and I swear, without her those hours a week, I'd be dead and Mother would be running the ship. You've got to have a break! "

" I am going through the same thing. I have been begging for two months for respite and I still don't have it. I called again today and nothing.
I find that if I just leave the scene and let him stew , at least I get away from it.
I feel for you. "

" I just wanted to update everyone on my and Dhs status.Things are better as I have been getting respite two times a week. It is wonderful to get out of the house for those 6 hrs. it has made a world of difference in how I am managing. My DH is continuing to go down, seems to be more each day, then sometimes he will surprise me with a very coherant thought. May god bless each of you, especially you girls that are so encouraging to others , keep it up.. "

" Hi Dee glad to hear you managing better even as your DH is getting worse. Not easy to deal with this disease. My mom is still hanging in there although she is really on the last leg of her journey. Hugs. "

" Dee I'm glad you found some help. Reading these old posts has brought back some memories. Hard to remember how things were just 5 months ago. "
