ok, just heard back from the Insurance Agent and he said because mom is already in the nursing facility that she can't be covered for life Insurance, now what do I do? Mom is still up and walking around so I still have time but I don't know what else to do. I must take care of this now instead of waiting until the last minute. What will happen with my mom?

" First - I don't think you should be responsible for providing a big
fancy funeral for anyone.
There are cheaper ways to do this. Your mother could be cremated at death (no embalming). Then you can decide what to do with the cremains. Some funeral homes and cemeteries have a list of lots that are for sale cheap. Some towns even provide a cemetery lot for
people without resources. Or you could scatter the cremains or do whatever you choose. A small private memorial service can be planned at little cost.
We had to do some of these things for a family member without
resources.
Don't stress out over this. Also, talk to a social worker ( the nursing home can hook you up) they will have suggestions as well. Good Luck ! "

" After we paid way too much for my dad's funeral someone told us about the Neptune Society- they are supposed to offer reasonable prices and not take advantage of you.

OMG! The way that funeral parlor took advantage of us when my dad died is disgusting. You are right to plan ahead. "
