I want to drink

I have been sober since 28th May 2009.

I rarely have wanted a drink since then.

I am now moving back into my own house, one I lived in before I got married (I am now in the process of a divorce).

I am in between the two houses as it happens when you move sometimes.

I have no desire to drink in one environment, the home I rent until the 30th of the November.

But when I started to stay in my old home, where I am moving permanently. I realised that I really wanted to drink. When I lived there I drank.

My son in law had a beer while I was at his house and even the smell of it drew me as never before.

I am actually worried for the first time ever that I want to drink, really want to drink.

I am seeing a really good GP in the village of the rented house, but don't like the ones near my own house.

Without the support of my counselor and GP, I am really quite worried about what is going to happen.

I just did not expect this.

" there are places that hold memory. sometimes the memory represents pain, despair, loss, fear. i do not go to those places anymore just as i do not go to bars or crackhouses. they can be just as dangerous for me . maybe for you too? "

" gina, my environment, regardless of history, cannot get me drunk. Only my right arm and my attitude can. Do you have any sober friends or family members you can call? I pray you make the healthy choice for you & yours. "

I wish you well in your dilemma. "

" Good point glad2bee, it took me a while to realise it is not what happens that leads me to drink but the way I deal with it. I have learned a whole different way of living and havent wanted a drink for a long time. "
