Well, I am going to toot my own horn happily. I have been sober for 21 days today! This time, and I have tried now many times sincerely for the past 3 years, is different. Why you ask? One, I am not constantly thinking of how I can get a drink....the constant planning and urging just isn't there. I know it can come back but for now I am enjoying the peace and serenity. Whatever you may feel, for me the difference WAS that I got down on my knees and asked my HP to help me....that I needed some divine help because I can not do it alone....I tried and tired and tired and it wasn't working. I actually did not want to ask a HP for help for a long time, but I was getting desperate. Actually, I ask my HP everyday to help me because I can't do it by myself...so far so good....I do have bad days, but I just keep asking for help and take the steps to help myself....I don't want to go back...I could kill someone else or myself with the way I was going. I had to end the spiral downward.
