" Nothing worst than having your answers already and just want some suggestions. I have had this over and over in sobriety, forget aner, sound sto me like a rage issue and I had to get fu++ing professional help with this, IT WAS EATING ME UP FROM INSIDE!

Ever try to run a car off the road with a bicycle? Doesn't work and you sure get busted up!
Do that five or six times till you surrender to the issue and boy do I feel like one of those car crash dummies shown on TV!

I wish you major breathing capacity. "

" Sunny, you clearly need some male advise on the "fine art of throwing things" : Panties won't work. If there's no smash or bang or "oh shit look what I just broke " , it's just not the same!! LOL
Seriously, Id say get to a meeting and bring up anger, see how others deal. If someone starts out by saying "Anger is a wasted emotion and I no longer feel it" tune out until someone a little less FOS speaks. "

" It's the intensity of your anger that you perhaps need to think about. I used to be so full of rage that I became (literally) homicidal and suicidal,I was locked up in a mental health unit for the safety of myself and others.

I likened it to a pint glass (well, what else would an alkie think of??) my glass was about 3/4 full all the time, from historical hurts. It need only be a very small thing that would cause anger to fill the glass to overflowing. That meant trouble. I was completely overwhelmed by it.

If you think that might be what's happening with you (still got loads of historical anger) you might think about seeing a counsellor or therapist. If that's NOT the case and it's all present day anger, I would respectully suggest you do some inventory work and look at your spiritual condition.

I had to do both things, I had held on tightly to 3 resentments and they quite literally drove me mad. I did therapy and some more step work and the anger went away. The freedom of that was staggering, I had no idea what it was like to live without anger!

I hope that you are feeling more calm now, and can enjoy 4th July!

Feel free to pm me if can help at all.

Lyn "

" I think anger is just one of many normal emotions. Everyone gets angry once in a while. It doesn't have to get the better of you though. I usually find that if I confront the person with whom I'm angry (as long as they don't get violent), and tell them what's on my mind, the anger doesn't fester inside me. To me resentment is not exactly the same as anger. Rather it is unresolved anger which sits in your gut like a piece of rotten meat. "

" I get mad and then I analyze it and think why, then I let it go. Journaling works for me when I get anger, I usually find that it has something to do with the way I was brought up. My Dad and Mom were alway's pissed at something. The thing is it only hurts you. Do an inventory on it if you need to. I can find a bunch of stuff that can make me angry, I only need to watch the news. So my anger creeps in sometimes, I have to learn to let go at least practice it, but we are human we are not perfect. Hit a pillow, go for a walk, journal, meditate, have a hobby, there is alot of things you can do to get over the anger. "
