(repaired I hope

We are group of men and women come together with a common purpose. To break the hold of alcohol and to recover our lives. This group offers a variety of ideas that can help an individual gain sobriety. There are many methods offered.

Though this group is not strictly Alcoholics Anonymous there are many active members of AA who are more than willing to share their recovery with you. The majority of discussion are based in but not limited to12 Step recovery.

For a more in depth understanding of AA and how it works your invited to look in to the sub group "aa Spoken Here" The folks there will be glad to explain the 12 Steps and how they work.

Others may wish to explore other methods. These are discussed in the sub group Alcohol Recovery Without the 12 Steps. This group is highly supportive of their members offering a variety of methods and ideas that can assist in gaining a foothold in recovery as well.

The Alcoholism Support Group currently lists 6314 members. As such there are many differing ideas and personalities. Sometimes they clash but please do not be dismayed. We are here for the same reason, to stay sober and help others get sober. My suggestion is to look for what works and file away the rest. Don't throw it out as you just may find you need it some day.

" I have no problem with people who try other methods to recover from alcoholism. I have a problem when they say that their way is the only way. The Big Book states that we do not have all the answers. I can only hope that these people find AA before they die from this disease. I tried other methods. I have been sober now since June 10, 1982. If you want to know how I did it, just ask me. "
