I could guess but when I saw my online bank statement with XYZ Liquors 10/12, ABC Liquors 10/13, UGH Liquors 10/15, ICK Liquors 10/17 I would have been embarrassed if anyone saw it!
Anyway, when I lost my job, needless to say it exceeded my income!

I was spending $70.00 a week on wine. Sometimes more.. When I was in full blown physical dependency it way really bad but I went to clubs back then. Haven't been to a club in about 3 years. Sick when you think of all of the money wasted huh? Not to mention our lives wasted. Cuz we were wasted! heehee

Enough that if I had saved it insted of drinking & drugging I could retire today and live very well indeed.
Pretty sad isn't it?!?!

This is a very hard thing to calulate.
The price listed at the Liquor store for the real alcoholic is an estimate. I have found that it always cost me alot more than what was listed on the shelf!

They tried to get me to work out how much money I had spent on alcohol when I was in treatment but the truth is, that's pretty much a pointless thing to think about, it's not about how much we spent, or how much we drank it's all about what happened (or happens) WHEN we drink.
Does how much money I spent whilst drinking help me to stay sober today? or tomorrow? No, in no way. It's very easy to look at our drinking from that perspective and convince us that we are either worse than we are, or better than we are, before you know it, it becomes oneupmanship. I've seen it happen!
