Hhehehehe-- that was me on Saturday. It sounded good when I started. Boy, things went down hill fast.

Yes, this is a progressive thing. It is so darn easy move from one to eight to ten, etc.

I'm chuckling because your post was the voice in my head.

it's my husbands/wifes fault
i was so depressed
i just don't care anymore
one time won't hurt
no one understands me
he/she/they shouldn't have drank around me
i can handle it this time
it was just beer
i'm ok if i don't drink the hard stuff
its the holidays
he/she/they just made me so mad

being honest with ourselfes is a requirement to stop this type of thinking

No, It's a recognition of the lies we tell ourselves.

A Lie that doesn't work. It's awareness of what doesn't work and will not work. Maybe someone needs to recognize and acknowledge that lie today as to not succumb.
