Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

6 months into my new sober life now and just wanted to check in with the group. I don't plan to be real active on this discussion board any more because it just was taking up too much time and I honestly think I am pretty solid with my sobriety. In some respects I was starting to feel somewhat addicted to this discussion group, and I think that can be a bad thing too. At some point you either have decided to go forward with living a sober and natural life, or you are still struggling to convince yourself that you aren't missing out on something by not drinking alcohol. I remain convinced that my life is much better now and that is enough for me.
Thanks to everyone who offered sincere and well-meaning advice to me and thanks even to those folks with whom I disagreed and obviously at times offended. I am convinced that my participation in this discussion group helped me to more clearly define the best approach to dealing with my alcohol addiction, and so far my approach seems to be working well for me.
Cheers, Buck

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

Glad to see you on here as there were a few of us wondering how you were. You are missed when not here but it is understandable why you feel that you needed to back off of participating.
I, for one, am disappointed that you will not be posting anymore. It is nice to have some "non-AA" success stories on here and someone around to counter the balance of making some of us feel like this is nothing but an extension of a church basement with bad coffee.
Just sayin'.................

It is good that you have the confidence and belief to move on. I would have disagreed with you many times but could always see that you had a genuine quest for finding the right path, which you now seem to have succeeded in doing and that is something to be admired and respected.
Good luck with the future.
Enjoy your sober life -- stay happy and active and never forget that alcohol has NOTHING positive to offer.
Hope you stop by occasionally, EXJ
