" Welcome to D/S. Thats what we do here.We offer support to those that have a desire to stop drinking. We are a group of men and women who have the same . I suggest that you look into Alcoholics Anonymous. problem. We are all suffering from the disease of alcoholism. If it one thing we have learned is that all we can do is offer support to those that take responsibility for their own actions. Its really important that you learn a new way of living and thinking. A lot us learned that in the meetings at AA.This disease is much bigger than anyone knows. We learned that theres so much more to getting sober than just not drinking. As you keep coming back you will understand more about this disease and we will help you as much as we can here on the net.But the bulk of the work has to be done by you. You have to want to stop and that means you have to do whatever it takes. Going to meetings will help you on your way. Congratulations on your decision to live a sober life. Hold on to your seat .You are about to go on the ride of your life.
Greg "

" It was very important for me to understand I was sick not BAD. As Greg shared we are people with disease we can not handle by ourselves. I too would urge, plead and encourage you to find AA meetings in your area. They are what has made it possibe for me to have the life I have today. My family was also fed up with my behavior. Thanks to recovery my relationship with them is awesome. I have heard this same story from many in the room. There is hope and there is a solution. Please seek them out. "

" Thank you Greg, so very much, I have a long rode ahead of me but I believe with all my heart that I can do it. I have thought about AA, if I see the online support isn't working for me, that will be my next step "

" Great decision! It feels great after the first week. There is also another site I am a member of Women for Sobriety. They have online chats. Between DS and WFS, I've been sober 19 days "

" Most of us started out right where your at hopeless, confused thinking there wasn't that way out BUT there is. Its takes work, commitment and wiling to go to any lengths.

Just remember your not alone and there is a solution. From my exp, I had to get done "my bottom" and reach out for help. "

" thank you both, for your support, this is a wonderful site that I am so thankful I came across, day 2 and I am feeling better than I did day 1 and I know it will keep getting better and better, a new friend I made on here yesterday told me about the other website, women for sobriety, I will have to check it out as well, thank you again, I appreciate all the help and support I can get...I think one big step for me is when I have to go into town..we are somewhat in the country..that is when I mess up, I end up going through a drive thru... " You can do it. You can make a different future than the one you were heading towards. "
