I want to do something fun.....There is the "Spirit of Texas" music festival downtown that might be fun, but it might be hot.

I will make some good food and go see a good movie perhaps!

All other 4ths for me have been about booze-it didn't matter where I was but I was drinking!

I am now 1 month sober YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

my daughter is flying in to my mom's area and hubby and I are driving there to meet them...My son will be seeing her for the first time in 5 years, as they have been estranged.(he is sober 3 years 3 months)..him missing her wedding for rehab, and that sort of stuff....and he wants to make his amends in person to her. they are 26 and 27. Now she is divorcing and has worked OT for spinal injuries and traumatic brain injuries, and guess what? lots of them were drunks...she understands things alot better now. Hopefully they can just be family...they have started texting since june 2nd...

so, we will be all together for the first time, and I have anxiety attacks I am so excited...trying to just take it slow- no expectations. Just so damn happy to see both my kids.... And everyone of us sober. Huge relief.

and fireworks, and boats and food...good times.

violet that sounds wonderful for this holiday....what happens is not in your control so do not put the wrenches into the works...just trust the process...let go let GOD....hugs bill

well the date I was to take fizzeled out on going to the party....oh well I am still going to go....

Glad you are still going. Ya just never know who you might meet going solo.
As for my plans, just cooking out. Maybe laying by the pool. Hanging with the kids always makes it easier to not drink. Like Citychick, my 4th has always revolved around drinking. Not this year. Turned down invites to parties where there is alcohol. Even offered to go to one and be the driver for my husband.
