Been crying a lot. Over nothing. I feel like I'm 5 years old. It's a week since I stopped drink and drugs . I'm not able to do anything without crying
Feel so useless . I never used to cry. I thought I'd grown out of it Did any one else feel like this after a week. Feel so pathetic . E Went to meeting yesterday and tried to speak but sounded like a little kid so feel ashamed . Going to another later. When others speak they are so inspirational. What's the point in me saying something cause it's not going to help anyone and it makes me feel worse. I just feel like they laughing at me for being so weak Shall I just keep quiet or does it do you good sub conscious ly to say a couple of things even though I feel terrible after opening my mouth.? Why don't you just listen and soak up the inspirational stuff and find a woman you can talk to one on one about the other stuff... possibly a sponsor?

It happens. For someone reason I thought this made me a different kind of drunk from the other people in AA. Started trying to 'pull myself together' and talk inspirational like the other folks.
Somebody pulled me up and said "It's like you're trying to sell us something - we're just glad you're here" :o). It got better Maybe an idea to stay with it and remain honest to yourself about how you really feel.

What do you mean not help anyone or be an inspiriation?? Just maybe there is someone around the table that needs a gentle reminder of "what it was like"? Maybe there is someone that is looking for a sponsee but waiting to see how serious you are.
Most in the rooms have been there, done this. You aren't alone. Admitting you have a problem that you haven't a clue to cope with is something we have all laid out there. There is a solution. I'm glad you made it to the rooms. Many don't...

totally agree with denny....someone could need exactly what you did share...a reminder, or someone wanting to stop. New visitors can relate much more to you than someone with 30 years...
and you don't have to share if you don't feel like it. No one is laughing at you. Just keep going back. You are feeling feelings all in a rush, because you are not deadening your mind and soul. It will balance out, but not for a while.

Your not alone may of us just starting out felt that way its pretty common. I know from my exp. when this happens at meetings I feel how the gratitude of where I was and where I am so yes you are helping others and don't even realize it. Stay the course and sooner than later you will know what I'm talking about.
Willingness and acceptance is key.

I agree with the others. I don't know why it works or how, but just being there and listening will definitely help you! Its strange that a group of people can get together and talk about their common problems and they get cured but that's the way it works!
I believe the Catholics call it Grace, and other Christians call it The Holy Spirit. Whatever you want to call it is up to you but it's available to everyone who wants it and needs it! Put your problems in the Hands of your Higher Power and you will get what you need. God Bless
