I know where you are coming from. Many time I had no problem drinking to excess but then there were the bad times. The marriages lost, the friends lost, the family lost. I have come to realize that it slippery road downhill. I will always get worse until you realize you have a problem and It Just Isn't Worth It. Hopefully it won't be to late as it was for me and many others. If you ask for help you will be surprised at the support from people in AA and from God that you will receive. It has blown me away. Thing I never thought possible will suddenly happen.
Just talk to people, talk to me. I will listen and give help where possible. Hope I can help

When it gets bad enough for you , thats when you will do something about it, not when others tell you to. If you seriously want to stop , then get to an AA meeting.. good luck, god bless xx

Don't take anything personally. It's more about the person delivering the message than about you.
That said, you need to make certain you are getting your proverbial act together. Not drinking? AOK. Still, there are issues you no doubt need/want to deal with. Go with that. Deal with your own self. Self-management is a HUGE important thing in life. Take yourself to an AA meeting if that's what works for you. Or get out there and connect with friends, classmates, whomever makes life seem better for you. Keep comin' back to this board. Let us know how you're progressing.

that mix of booze sounds like what I use to drink when I was 19 at a frat party.....yuck-line at the toilet...
So what are your plans goober? Is being told you are similar to your mother in law enough? OR are your friends going to call for you to go out on friday again, and this little insult will mean nothing in the face of going out again and getting shIzfaced? Something internally has to make a shift, and I cannot explain to anyone how to get to that point. Please try and think about all you have to lose perhaps. Your health, relationship with family, etc. Pray for guidance, try to stay in Friday.
