noah was diagnosed w/albinism at 4 months dont know much about it. when people find out he's albino they say no way he's not fair enough.he has blue eyes light blonde hair and fair skin.It has something to do w/the rods& cones in his eyes. but the doc said it will efect his vision.he also has nystagmus and downs syndrome.would love to get any feed back to help me better understand.

" In short albinism means "lack of pigmente." its a genic condition and has vairying degrees. Most people only know the extremes of the condition where you have white hair, white skin and pink/grey eyes. I like your son have albinism and have blonde hair blue eyes and fiar skin. I dont look like the typical Albino. Having Albinism on its own is no major issue but you do need to look after his skin as it may be sensative (more so than the avaerage person with "sensative skin") and especially in the sun as he will probably burn easier than most people. As for his vision it is hard to say as you can have albinism with no other health related problems and so he must have a condition connected to the albinism and depending on what that is depends on what his vision may or may not be like. Sorry I cant really help that much but I hope this info helps somehow "

" my son is 4 years old and has OCULAR ALBINISM . he is a happy healthy and rowdy little boy and unless i tell some one they do not that he has it they to are surprized that he is a albino he has had two surgiers on his eyes but unfourtly he has lost the sight in his left eye but he doesnt let it hold him back from doing what he wants as he gets older he will lose sight in his other eye but they cant say when untill that happens i want him to experance all that he can my son has blonde hair and gray eyes and very light skin . i dont know if u know about a group called NOAH they help people like our kids with anything we need to help them with there lives or answer any qustions u may have . i will try to help you or answer anything i can "
