I have a 9 year old who has anxiety problems and an eye tic. He is curretnly on Abilify and it seems to be helping witht he anxiety but the eye tic is terrible. Soooo i was online today and found that generally kids who have some emotional problems (anxiety, depression, anger....) and eye ticks sometimes have a magnesium deficiancy. what the hell....I am first soo happy that i found it i wnet and got him some today and am going to try it. But ia am so mad at the drs for not ever mentining it to me before medicationg him. Has anyone every heard of this?

" you shouldnt give him supplements without first consulting with a doctor. they can do blood work to see if there is a problem. giving him magnesium when it is not needed could cause more problems. "

" well i did call his psyc and he said to give it a try. I also did alot of research online and it all says that before anything terrible wuld happpen he would become symtomatic with diarrhea. I am going to monitor him very closely...thanks for your reply. "
