" OK, you have lice? Are you following the directions EXACTLY? You cannot have conditioner in your hair when you apply treatment-this will not work. You may need to go to your pharmisist and get another treatment-if it is not working and you have used it several times-the lice have maybe become resistant to that brand.

YOu have to follow directions to a tee. Are you sure you have lice, not dandruff? "

" Years ago when I had waist length hair, my boys caught lice and we all had to be treated a couple of times! I had to sit still while my mother in law slowly and painfully combed through my super long hair to get every nit off the strands of hair. In your situation, you need another adult to help you reach all the nits and get them off your hair strands.

The bugs may also have spread throughout the rest of the house: Unfortunately they can get into all the linens - Sheets, Pillow, Blankets, Comforters, Bedspreads, the fabric in your furniture, all the childrens stuffed toys, and basically anything with a fabric covering it!

I know it takes time to get this under control but you guys will concur all! The linens and things have to be washed, dried and bagged....the instructions for Rid Lice control will have the suggested times in the directions for use.

Keep us posted and good luck there momma!! "

" We just went through this with my nephew. We contacted Mayo Clinic, the Center for Disease Control, and Public Health for ideas....

You need to vacuum your whole house! Even the couches/chairs and hardwood floors. Wash everything including your clothing that has been worn or come into contact with worn clothing. Wash bedding and rugs too. Also vacuum the seats and flooring and mats in your vehicle(s).

Shampoo everyone in your household with the lice shampoo. Then use the special comb on your hair. You may have to hand pick nits out of the hair.

In 7 to 10 days, repeat everything.

If that does not work, then you may have lice that are resistent to the shampoo. IN that case, you need to see a doctor about getting a prescription shampoo.

Hope this helps "

" I agree with the others' advice. Also wash all bedding in hot water. Boil or replace all brushes, combs and hair accesories. If u have stuffed animals laying around, they need to be washed too. "

" I went thru a bout of lice at my house 2 yrs ago. It was bad b/c every time I would get rid of it at my house. My daughter would go back to school and get it again. Within like a couple of wks. It wasnt funny! I stopped usin the stuff docs recommend.
I decided to use a method a friend told me about. I put a jar of mayo in each persons hair in my house and put a shower cap on there heads for 8hrs. I think it was. While this was done. I got the spray from the store and sprayed everything that couldnt be washed. Then, I washed everything else. Any stuffed animals or even any kind of toy that have fur, play clothes, barbie dolls. All of that kind of thing. It got bagged .They need to stay bagged for about 2-3wks. Then I sprayed some of the stuff that u use on like the furniture to get rid of lice in the bag. Its a long process. But it worked. After the mayo sets you comb out the hair with a lice comb. Then wash it really well. "
