I have a 14 year old daughter. She is a good kid, dances 4 days out of the week, freshman in high school with good grades. Tonite she had plans to go to movies with 6 other kids. I said I would pick the crew up after the movies as long as another parnt would bring them. Seems fair as we all rotate aroung transportation. So she gets picked up here and tells me the show is out at 9ish. I arrive there at 8;50 and wait. people are coming and going but i was watching for my daughter. After an hour I texted her and she said she was home, that she had gotten a ride from one of the other parents. Great, but why didnt she tell me. So i drive the 25 minutes back home. My 12 year old son, his budy, my boyfriends 16 year old son and my boyfriend all don't realize whats going on, I am mad as ma can be. My boyfrien was asleep on our bed and didn;t notice she got home. Incidentally, he works 8 to 12 mon thu fri as he hi out with a back injury. Anyway ths is longer than i hadd planned,Am i wrong to be this tweaked? He says I am out of line. I feel like i could spit nails right now. Any advice on calming myself down?

" Why do you feel so upset? Because you wasted your time? You feel your daughter was disrespectful? Do you think she did it on purpose? Do you feel that your boyfriend and your son should of noticed what was going on? I think its important to pinpoint the root of your anger. Than you can have discussions with everyone involved logically rather than just acting out of emotions reflex.

It sounds to be like your daughter was inconsiderate, but at 14, she has a lot to learn about responsibility. It might be a good opportunity for you to teach her. "

" I would be mad too It was thoughtless of you daughter to not call you. My son has done the same thing and he is shocked when I am upset. Clueless is the word that comes to mind. I have considered doing the same thing to him so maybe he will get the message on how it feels when some one doesnt consider the other persons feelings. "

" did she knowthat you were coming to pick her up? they don't hink sometimes about the effort we put in, they can't, there brains operate differently.

i'd be pissed off too, that's almost an hour of driving, tell her you were mad, and worried when she didn't go out.

ask , why didn't you call, she might have forgotten, or got caught up in the moement of accepting the ride. talk to her. "
