My son had tubes put in his ears at 10 months old. He is now 26 months old. Today he woke up with an ear full of blood. Does anyone know if this is normal? I'll call his dr. when they open.

I had tubes several times as a child and yes, there is blood from time to time. I remember my Mom and I freaking out but it not being a problem. But still call the doctor and have it checked.

Has he had any fussy moments? Has he had recent congestion problems? Is there any other discharge coming out of the ear?
It is a good idea for this to get checked out. I'm not meaning to scare you, but I had that happen to me when I was little. For some kids, its nothing but for others, it could mean that pressure is building inside of the ear. It never hurts to have it looked at. It could mean the difference of having normal hearing and major hearing loss.
