We have been potty training my lil guy he just turned 2 but became interested at 18 months. We just really got serious with it and he is doing pretty well. He doesn't have too many accidents but he still usually won't tell u when he has to go. I just have to take him every 20-30 min. Anyway he refused to go number 2 on the potty. He asks me for a diaper or will go in his underwear. What do I do?? How do we get him to go on the potty. Does this mean he is not ready...HELP

I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, friend, BUT, he's really young. My oldest was just over 3 when he would go #2 on the potty, and the second was 33 months. I know some people have boys train earlier, but I haven't known too many boys to train right at age 2. Good luck!

Oh the joys of potty training! I am both looking forward to my son being trained, and dreading it. I just know it's going to be interesting. That said, I think Cheryl might be right. This might just be an exercise in frustration for you at this point. My niece is just turned three and she goes pee in the potty just fine without accident but STILL won't tell my sister when she needs to go poop. I really do think this is an age issue but by continuing to offer him the experience i think you'll end up right there when he is ready.

I just got my son trained and he just turned FOUR!
He was also interested in the potty at 18 months but wouldn't do it. Also I went into the hospital for 5 months and that might have messed with his head a bit. They say boys take longer. If he gets upset about it or starts making himself constipated because he's scared (or stubborn) I would say he's not ready yet.
