night light suggestions

My girls go to bed around 7:00. Since it has been getting dark a lot sooner they are not liking that there room is so dark, especially since they like to look at a book before falling asleep. I used to be able to leave there blinds open and it would offer enough light. The problem that I have is that I can not plug in a night light in their room because the outlet that is available is too close to one of their cribs and the other outlet if I were to put an extension on it, it is too far away to do any good. So, to get to my question, have any of you used the night lights that shine on the ceilings. I can't remember what they are called. I just know they can make different shapes like stars and such on the ceiling. Do they offer enough light for them to still be able to look at their books?

" We used to have a twilight turtle, which my daughter loved. It's not overly bright though, so I don't know if they could read to it. One thing I will advise, it is not meant to be played with. After light use and my daughter wanting it in bed with her the bottom material came unstuck from the solid plastic body. "

" Look around for something like this:

Giimmo stuff is absolutely adorable. They slowly transition through a rainbow of colors. The nose and hands have magnets in them, so they are useful for storing paper clips and the like later on. They are LED, so they generate no heat. It has a recharging base, so no need to worry about batteries. They are also a perfect brightness- not too dim and not too bright.

They do sell in the US, but I'm having a hard time finding the website for them. I do believe they are sold here, just search "Giimmo"-
