What is the best way to get stuffed animals clean?? So many say "surface washable" - can I put them in the machine in a pillow case on gentle???

Thanks!

" Just don't dry them. It messes up the fur and makes them kinda 'crunchy'! Lol "

" Yep. First time I put them in a pillow case but I've washed them since just on their own.
I do put them in the tumble dryer on a low heat setting. My boy likes to seriously suck on them and it's bit gross if they don't go in the wash fairly frequently!
They may not look exactly the same - slight fading or loss of the fluffiness that they had to start with may occur. Makes me suspect that the fluffiness is some chemical that the shop adds - probably better off without it! :) "

" I put mine in the wash and they were fine too, it even was one that giggles when you press it feet and it still worked. just don't dry in the dryer.

the only thing that didn't work was a toy that you pull its tail and it has a song, that didn't work after the wash, but either way it needed it. She still playes iwth it, music or not. "

" Yep, we throw them in the washer on gentle cycle. Definitely don't do the dryer though! You can air dry them. "

" thanks! I put them in for a short gentle cycle in a Pillow Case - I did put them in the dryer on low for about 15 mins to get the major wet out - and they all seem fine!

here is a funny tale for you. Once, when I was an adult, my mom decided to wash my Ragedy Anne Doll - she put it in on gentle, checked on it and thought it was okay. Well, then came the SPIN cycle!! Poor Anne!! Here face split open and stuffing went everywhere! I did a "skin graft" from her bottom to sew her up. She is scared for life though now.... =) "

" I put the ones that say surface wash in the dishwasher on the light cycle. My son has a prayer lamb and it has a thing inside that u press and it talks. I was able to save it by putting it in the dishwasher. And I put it on the delicate cycle in the dryer afterwards. :) "
