my friend erin had a troubled pregnancy and on tues morning she finally delivered her baby girl via emergency c-section, a good 3 weeks early. her name is Haley Brinn Chmille, and she is having seizures, from an unknown cause. she is being transferred to childrens hospital in philadelphia today. (erin also needs a blood transfusion.) please pray and have anyone you know send up prayers for erin and haley, to both recover quickly and completely. thank you so much!!

im sorry to hear about your friend. i hope everything goes well and they find out why the little one is having seizures. its really scary when you see an infant having them for unknown causes.
my godson has been having seizures since he was 2 months old. doctors in ontario had no clue what was causing it and ended up sending a vial of his blood to the US for testing. turned out that he has a very rare disorder called Menkes Disease which deals with very low copper in the body which was causing the seizures

They are definitely in my thoughts and prayers! As a word of encouragement, my cousin's child had seizures when he was born, too, and had to be flown to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. They monitored him for quite awhile, put him on seizure medication and kept tabs on his progress for his first year of life. He's now a happy, healthy little 2 1/2 year old, off medication and no more seizures!

I will definitely send up prayers for Haley and her family.
In case it helps, my baby was also born via emergency c-section (we were both unconscious at the time of her birth),and she experienced a seizure when 3 weeks old. We were admitted to Children's Hospital and they never found a cause for the siezure. She is now 3 months old and although she has a few other issues she has never had another siezure. Keep us posted and tell Erin to take care of herself and her little one!
