Advice:
Fever after immunisations

My son gets his 3rd lot (16 weeks) of vaccinations this afternoon:
Diptheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib, Meningococcal C and Pneumococcal.
He didn't have any side effects after the first two lots but I'm told a fever is very common afterwards.
Does anyone know how long afterwards the fever would come on and how long it would last?
How long after the vaccinations can I assume that he's not going to get one if he remains fine?
I have been invited out with friends tonight and tomorrow night and was wondering what my chances of making either meeting will be!
Thanks for any advice.

" When my daughter had her 1st round of shots she was very very fussy for 3 days after her shots. We had to give her tylenol every 4 hrs for the 1st night and a couple times the 2 days after. Personally I would never have left her with a sitter becasue she was beyond fussy at times and didn't feel it was fair for someone else to have to deal with it. Good Luck "

" Thanks for the warning. I wouldn't leave him with anyone - he'll be coming with me :) But not if he's feeling under the weather :( "

" my son didn't react after his 2 month and 4 month needles, but he did react after his 6 month needles. i have always given my son some tylenol before i leave to take him on the days he gets needles. it helps settle them down and by the time he receives his needle the tylenol has started to work. every baby is different so its hard to say how long the reaction if they have one will last. it all depends on the baby.
