Hi there!!
I am not able to see my GP this week, so thought I would throw a question at the mums on here :) My daughter is 5 1/2 months old, and has 3 teeth... They have been there for about a week, and I do not know what to do with cleaning!! (First time mum lol) I have a little orthopaedic toothbrush, but i just use water and she bites it... Other than that, when are you supposed to use toothpaste or a proper little baby toothbrush? (Once with bristles, the one I have has silicone to be soft on her gums..) I have no idea what is recommended at the moment as I was ignored when I said she was teething... Does anyone know what I am meant to do in the meantime? Thank you :) Ruth. Aussie standards recommend that you use toothpaste when the kiddo can spit on instruction. The next time you're at the grocery store, pick up a tube of kid's toothpaste and have a read. They list the info on the label.
You don't have to use a toothbrush if your LO has sensitive gums. A face cloth and water will suffice. They do sell a 0-2 years old toothbrush, but the bristles are quite a bit harder than the ones specifically made for babies. Tommee Tippee has a great three piece brush set that's around 10AU- it has a regular super soft bristled toothbrush and two other brushes that have nubs on them. Its the best thing I found for in our market. http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/i...

Ruth, if you're looking for the toothpaste with no fluoride, its called Nenedent-baby. They don't sell it in stores around here, but its easily found online. The one found here comes with a finger brush.
