  • DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE....OR LET ANYONE ELSE!!!!

    Wednesday, March 5, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

    I went to a party,
    And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
so I had a sprite instead.
    I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
that I didn't drink and drive,
though some friends said I should.
    I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right.
    The party finally ended,
and the kids drove out of sight.
    I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece.
    I neve...

  • Dream?

    Thursday, March 13, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

This was sent to me from my dear friend here on DS... MrsTDC
And I thought it was a positive message, so I wanted to share....
    (((((((BIG GIGANTIC HUGS)))))))
Trouble arrives in measures, and we stack it up real high,
until we're convinced,we have no reason to try.
If you feel defeated, you're absolutely wrong,
for if you follow your dream, you could never lose for long.
    Ignor...

  • Still I Rise...

    Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Still I Rise by Maya Angelou
You may write me down in history
    With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
    Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
    Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
    With the certainty of tides,
    Just like hopes springing high,
    Still I'll rise.
    Did...

  • "The Hole"

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

    "The Hole"
    It is deep,
    it is sharp,
    it was a shattered
    piece of my heart!
    It's been there,
    it's tore apart,
    strewn about
    right from the start.
    Who knows why,
    Oh! does it show?
    Cuz it began
    so long ago.
    When it took
    it's first blow,
    that flung it about
    to and fro.
    It finally gave in,
    the pressure built up,
    the pain it did boil
    and it did erupt!
    It will move on,
    will be patched up.
    I know this now,
    ...

  • A Borrowed Poem "A Strong Woman..."

    Wednesday, August 13, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

A strong woman versus a woman of strength
A strong woman works out every day
to keep her body in shape
but a woman of strength looks deep inside
to keep her soul in shape
    A strong woman isn't afraid
    of anything
but a woman of strength shows courage
in the midst of her fear
A strong woman won't let anyone
    get the best of her
but a woman of strength gives the best
    of her to everyone
    A strong woman ...

  • How Many...?

    Friday, August 15, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

The dark cloud is not quite so dark anymore but the sun hasn't come back out, so to speak, in my heart yet.  But I keep hoping... and while I wait, I think and then I write, and this is what came out today.  It helps me and I'm hoping maybe it helps someone else along the way.
How many times can I say that I love you?
How many times can I wish you were here?
    How can it b...

  • Friendship In Our Time Of Need...

    Monday, August 25, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

To all of those who share and care about the loved ones that we've all lost...
For all of us to remember them with all of the love in our hearts.
The tears that quench our sadness
    For all that used to be;
    The aching in our hearts
That no one else can see.
The pain that doesn't go away
    For months, it lingers on,
    Throbbing to remind us
Of our loved ones who have gone
Onto a place so far away
    Tha...

  • THE OLD LOSE THEIR LANGUAGE

    Tuesday, January 20, 2009

    The old lose their language
In native tongue timing is clean, like water
    Sparkling, clear, simple
    Like before the war.
    Why waste time with English?
It has no space for memories
    Clipped, efficient, like soldiers
    Marching through the mind.
When I was young we spoke feelings.
Beauty, nature, song prayer, a baby's cry
A girl laughing and a tear
How it feels when the wind blows
    abd the sun shines.
    There...

    Wednesday, November 11, 2009 | A Poem/Artistic story

    Marie
    thank you.....
you taught me so much, with what little  you had
your mind was not par with the rest
    your behavior not the same
your were locked away and ignored
    left to die alone
the music played through you in ways
only an attuned listener could know
    and echoes today as ripples
i hearyour voice in the rain, feel your presense in the wind
    thank you.. thank you.....
