The dark cloud is not quite so dark anymore but the sun hasn't come back out, so to speak, in my heart yet. But I keep hoping... and while I wait, I think and then I write, and this is what came out today. It helps me and I'm hoping maybe it helps someone else along the way.

And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
so I had a sprite instead.
I felt proud of myself,

"The Hole"
It is deep,
it is sharp,
it was a shattered
piece of my heart!
It's been there,
it's tore apart,
strewn about
right from the start.
Who knows why,
Oh! does it show?
Cuz it began
so long ago.
When it took
it's first blow,
that flung it about
to and fro.
It finally gave in,
the pressure built up,

As I get older, and for me its only 43, the small child in me still drives this vehicle. The being that I know I am is still the one trying to park this body, pick up this body and , aaaand... deal with the storms of emotions that pass through it.
