These are all very good toys for toddlers!

The age requirement says 2+ years, but I personally think it can offered much sooner than that. The make and model is very much like some of the Fisher Price toys that are for 6+ months, which leads me to believe that the age recommendation is due to developmental reasons. A child might not get everything out of the toy as a 2+ year old would, but there is still plenty to keep a LO busy!

My daughter was talking in gibberish until I picked up the Letters and Sounds Smart Stick for less than $AU 15 (About $10 US). It's helped her so much with her pronunciations and talking! She also loves to read the screen as she pushes the buttons. Its such a great toy for the price! There are very few toys out there that can hold her attention and this is one of them.

It's proven its value already, making diaper changes much easier. I just hand the smart stick to her and she is entirely preoccupied, which in turn, allows me to take the time to clean her thoroughly and change her without rushing. If you see one out there, pick it up! They sell out super fast!

On the Letters and Sounds Smart Stick, there are 4 different settings- sounding out letters and saying them aloud, find a letter, find a sound, and the last option is the ABC song. When you push a button, it will also display an image on the screen, depending on which mode you're in (ex: Letters and sounds mode, it will display the letter and then show a picture of something that begins with the letter). It also has a built in sleep mode. If the child leaves it laying on the floor while its on, it will automatically shut down after a few minutes to preserve the batteries (3 AA).
