Can I adopt a child from another adoptive parents? I friend adopted a child a few years ago, but gone through very rough times financially and emotionally recently and feel they can no longer take care of the child. She ask if we can help out? Could my wife and I adopt the child from them? What is the law?

I don't know what the legal stance on this is but I seriously hope your friend thinks long and hard about their decision, we all go through bad times in our lives. I am adopted and it is hard enough dealing with the fact that i was relinquished once yet alone the prospect of it happening twice. I applaud you for wanting to help but if the situation does arise the child involved will be emotionally scarred for life by being rejected yet again (sorry to use that terminology but that is how many adoptees feel about adoption)

I agree with pinklily,
I have a good friend who is taking care of a child while the childs mother gets back on her feet. Its been a few months and he keeps asking to see his mom. They are in 2 different states. He knows who mom and dad are, but living with friends. He gets to see his mom soon for a week visit. Maybe you could help out till your friends can get back on their feet. I would try to do anything to keep that family together, life can always turn around.
