Weakness and fatigue AGAIN

I was having a decent day until I read an email from my doctor up at Duke. she told me to discuss the weakness and fatigue with my GP ( who I see on Thursday) because, and these are the words I have dreaded hearing from her, "they may NOT be related to the AI and/or steroids!"
I don't get it. IF they are not related to the AI and steroids, then what is the cause? I am very depressed and discouraged yet again and honestly feel like just saying to hell with it and giving up on even trying to figure out what is wrong at this point. Posted on 11/02/09, 06:11 pm |

Jeep,
Why did she tell you that in an email? Was there other news? Lab results? Did she say what she was thinking? Gah, I hate dealing with doctors. Vanyel

Hi Vanyel. she was replying to an email i sent her giving her an update on how I have been feeling in general and on the lower steroids. I told her about the weaknes, mostly in the left thigh...which I do know that she wants me to get that looked at and possibly get a muscle biopsy done. I must have indicated other weakness as well but am not 100% sure. I did tell her I am hitting that wall again ( now at 10 AM due to the time change) and I had not been having that for a while.
No she did not say what she is thinking it is. So i emailed her back practicly(SP?) begging her to share with me or my GP ANY ideas she may have ( she is very smart and thus far ran a lot of tests noone else had so i do respect her opinion) because I don't think he even knows what direction to go in next! My thinking is that maybe she said this because I should not still be exhibiting these symptoms while on a pretty high dose of the HC ( am on 20/10/5 now)..and for a little bit I wasn't ( I was also on higher dose of 30/20 and then sometimes 20/20/20 when ill)IF it were related to AI...So maybe that is where she is coming from. I just find it hard to accept that those symptoms are not related since those symptoms all started when i was put on steroids and then tried to taper down. Unless something else was triggered in my body BY the steroids or whatever else was going on back then. ( and is still going on). I just don't know and i don;t know where to look yet again for answers, so I hope she replies today to yesterdays email with some ideas for me.
