Just a quick update: I have had a pretty good week this week. I have felt so much better than I have in a long time. ( at least since this latest setback started in early July).
I still have some fatigue and some weakness but it seems to be less than before. My weight has been maintaining ( even GAINED 2.4 lbs from Thursday to Friday!) and my appetite and ability to eat are slowly improving. My moods are also better, maybe as a result of feeling better ( and an increase in my anti-depressants). My hormones are still out of whack but I am not feeling the effects of that emotionally at the moment so that is a good thing! The GI tests were all clean and that was a huge relief. But still have bouts of stomach and abdominal pain so we are doing further investigating. But even that seems to be getting a bit better. Will still have to do the sleep study and go to Duke in October to the endo's there. Also waiting on this weeks 24 hr urine cortisol test results and the thyroid labs to come back ( last ones showed low TSH with normal T4..am off the Cytomel now and maybe that will make a difference in the results as I was on it for the 1st tests). I just go day by day and am so grateful for the good days! Hoping it continues! Be well! Posted on 09/19/09, 07:09 pm |

Hi all. Well, I am still feeling good..which is such a huge improvement over these last two and half months!
But I actually emailed my endo and called my GP yesterday about this because I am almost feeling "too good"! I know that sounds odd but it is true. My fatigue is nearly gone...I am up at 3:30 or 4Am a lot of days and then do not even really need a nap. and I feel very "revved up" and half to take something to level me out! My GP said to sp to the endo today that maybe I am in fact on too high a steroid dose now ( esp since I have lost all this weight). so I hope to speak to him today. Thank God for my GP! He is really great! he has been researching all of my scans ( ie: gall bladder and chest CT's and abd CT's) and sp to my surgeon of last year and is planning to talk to the GI dr who I am supposed to see today but called to r/s so am not sure if they took me offthe schedule yet. He deserves a really nice Chritsmas gift this year for helping so much these last 2 years! Anyway, that is what is going on..still waiting on thyroid and urine cortisol results. and still going to Duke on Oct 7th ( I wish I had gone while I was so ill). I still need to figure out what is going on so even though I feel really good, I do need to see some endo specialists and get some questions answered ( hopefully!) Be well!
