Has anyone had any experience with dental implants? My oral surgeon seems to think that it would be very difficult to put in dental implants since all the years with Addison's will mean that my bones will be like marble, not good for implants.

What does he mean by marble? Hard? or soft? Interesting. I have no experience with dental work and Addison's. Is he concerned about you having been on steroids for so long? Does he have experience with Addison's patients? Just wondering. Is he saying he won't do it?

He said that my bone would be rock hard and very difficult to drill into. Plus, he said that I may not heal properly, that the bone will not grow around the implant the way it is supposed to. Yes, he's concerned since I have been on steroids for so long. He didn't say that he wouldn't do it. He said that he was going to call my endocrinologist and consult with him. Then he was going to call some colleagues more in the research field and consult with them. I appreciated his honesty. He did know about Addison's but didn't have experience with it. He suggested that I try to do some research on the Internet, too, and then we would talk. I haven 't found anything out there yet. That's why I'm posting it here.
