Addison's Disease Support Group
Addison's disease (also known as chronic adrenal insufficiency, or hypocortisolism) is a rare endocrine disorder. It is estimated that it affects about 1 to 2 in 100,000 people. It occurs when the adrenal glands, seated above the kidneys, fail to produce enough of the hormone cortisol and, sometimes, the hormone aldosterone
possibly depending on your age...I'm over 50...and the more I read about it...the more I think I need it...Sadly, I don't add any vitiamins to the regime...just too much to remember. Of course, I buy multivitamins...but mostly they just sit on my kitchen counter waiting to expire....
good question!

If you are taking prenatal vitamins prescribed by your ob/gyn, they should contain enough folic acid to prevent neural-tube defects early in pregnancy. But if your ob/gyn prescribed both, take both. I went through 5 years of infertility treatments and now have two healthy, amazing teenagers. So good luck!
Maybe my best treatment is a walk along the beach, since we live on a small island and the ocean is all around us.
Cortef 15/5
B12 injections 1k mcg/wk
Lidoderm Pain Patches
Supplements:
Citracal Petites 3600
Folic Acid
Biotin
Flaxseed Oil 1k mg
Acetyl L-Carnitine
Vit E 3x/wk
Sea Buckthorn (great for skin & hair)
Astragulus 470 mg 3xday (when run down)
Vit C (dose varies)
Pedialyte ~1-2 lts./day (varies accdg to level of exercise)
They're all 'major helpers', with the exception of Cortef...it's a love/hate relationship!!
My Wish List
1. ANY form of hormone replacement. DHEA sounds sooo good, but the risks far outweigh the benefits, for me.
2. Vit A-same as aboveoh well
It's the hormone you are supposed to produce naturally during pregnancy. After 12-14 weeks the baby produces it itself so i was able to stop.
After 5 miscarriages I tried Progesterone I had to put in my vagina at night for the first 14 weeks of the pregnancy. You can also have it as an injection It worked first time and my son is now 10 years old. Thought I would share just incase you have any problems. You don't want to go through what I went through.
