I went to see Nick today and was trying to act happy so he could possibly enjoy the visit and he seemed like he wasn't there like he used to be. He used to be glad to see me but he was in physical therapy when I got there and I told the nurses that I didn't mind going to where he was instead of them calling him to come upstairs. Neither of us would have imagined that a year ago we would be able to stay smoke free....but we did! Not even one little slip! It wasn't always easy, but it was so worth it. I am beyond proud of myself and of Don. If we can do this, especially with all of the trials and side effects, then ANYONE can!
We love being FREE!
