Hi, I'm a new member. My husband was diagnosed w/AML M5 on Dec 7,2007. He had a WBC of 207,000
& had been sick for months. He achieved remission after 2 rounds & then had 4 rounds of consolidation. Now, his counts have fallen again and he is neutropenic for no reason. Bone marrow scheduled for tomorrow. Does this sound like relapse or what?!?!?! We have an exact match sibling lined up for marrow. Posted on 03/23/09, 03:03 pm |

Hi, I was wondering what state and hospital you would attend for a BMT. I went to MD Anderson with my husband and we are one year out April 15th. Need anything let me know. Janimal

Hi, Janimal, well, at the time I wrote that we didn't have the results of the bone marrow biopsy yet, but, labs way down did mean relapse....So, IF we achieve second remission, BMT will be at Vanderbilt in Tennessee.

If I had seen this post in time, I would have said yes.. a lab change like that is very indicative of a relapse... I'm sorry to hear that :(( Just remember that it is VERY possible to get a second remission! I'm living proof- It's a major blessing he has a matching sibling!! I'm keeping you both in my prayers~~
