" The symptoms that my mom and dad had noticed was my color; it looked as if I were drained, instead of my usual flush. (Now, it was a little hard to tell that I had grown whiter than usual. I'm a red-head, and, we're all very fair skinned) Also, they found large and blotchy bruises all over my self. (Which explained my constant complaints of 'everything hurts') And lastly, my blue lips. There are other details I'm sure, but, the rest seemed to be uh, blocked out.

I was diagnosed when I was 5. Took about 2 1/2 years of treatment 'till I got better.

(By the way, have you ever read Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie? I loved that book. It's fantastic.) "

" My daughter had just turned 2. She had some bruises on her legs but then they kept adding up and not going away. I took her to the clinic as she also developed petechiae bruising on her other leg. Her platelet count was 10 and dropped to 6. Other then that I had a healthy active 2 year old little girl "
