I have no insurance. I am one of those people that doesn't make enough to see a Dr, but to much to get state assistance. In 2001 I had thyroid cancer. I actually felt better after the surgery but in 2008 I had a very large non-malignant mass removed from my ovary along with a hysterectomy. Since then I have never seemed to recover. Now I have developed what I believe are Petechiae on my legs. There are tiny red dots under my skin. Sometimes it is worse then others. sometimes it appears as larger spots but as you look closer it is apparant there are many many tiny red spots grouped together. When I walk up the stairs it feels like I have a thousand pounds on my back. Not to long ago I was a very active and healthy individual but now I feel like I have no energy. My thyroid cancer was treated with radioactive iodine but was given a fairly low dosage. any idea if this could be leukemia?Thank you for information.

I'm sorry you're going through this, and I know exactly what you mean about the insurance situation. My 4 year old son was diagnosed with ALL in 2007 and while he is covered by SSI/Medicaid, I have not had insurance since I quit my job to care for him. I know you probably don't want to incur any extra debts, but given your history I would go to the emergency room and get worked up. I don't know if this is leukemia, but whatever it is, you need to be treated. I hope everything works out for you.

I am sorry you've been through so much already. I agree it might not be leukemia but you need blood tests done to see what is causing the petechiae bruising and causing you discomfort walking up the stairs. Keep us posted.
