HELP - Ex just diagnosed..what kind could it be?

My ex has just been diagnosed with leukemia but I don't know what kind. He is being evasive with our son and it's making the boy CRAZY!
My ex just went Friday for a SECOND bone marrow testing. They found the diagnose after pulling blood because he is also diabetic. Only flu symptoms was all according to my son as a tell-tale sign. What can anyone tell me about these tests and signs to maybe tell me what type my ex has? I am angry because it took him to GET DRUNK until he'd come out with the truth even though my son has heard rumors for over a week his Dad was positive! I BEGGED the man when I was face to face with him to "be honest" with our son when he had conclusive answers. He certainly won't tell ME whats happening and his new wife won't either. My son wants to be able to review what might happen with his Dad to sort of be prepared in case they need to test HIM for bone marrow as possible donor. HELP! Thanks. Posted on 11/06/07, 10:11 am |

My daughter has leukemia.(ALL)
The only way to be sure what kind your ex has is to do the bone marrow test.The doctor should have told your husband. Tell your son not to worry, cause doctors have had so much progress with this form of cancer.But I will tell you from the experience that the chemo is very harsh. Good luck to you and your son. i wish for the best.

my friend died of leukemia. It isn't pleasent the good thing is they have found out

What your ex is doing by not telling him is psychological abuse. I would certainly communicate this to your ex and his wife. I would further suggest to your son not to worry too much; his dad will tell him when he is ready.

As someone who has delt with this I want to ask you to try and be understanding of what he is going through. It is easy for someone who does not have this disease to expect certain things from the person.(like being honest) But in reality everything becomes very hard to deal with, even loved ones, I went through periods where I didn't even feel like touching someone or being touched. It takes a long time to come to terms with what is going on inside and that is just with yourself, it is even harder to begin to let people in. So my advice is just try and be patient and understanding with him, yes he has obligations with his son, but remember he is facing his own personal hell right now.
