Size of tumor(does it matter?)

Several people have asked me the size of my tumor and what my gh and Igf1 levels were before surgury.I wanted to share what my doc said.I had a macroadenoma(larger than 1cm)it was 2.2cm.It covered my entire pituitary gland and was growing into the sella,(bony cavity in the skull where the pituitary gland is located),also into the cavernous sinus(a collection of veins next to the sella)and up my carotid artery.
I have to say my surgury was not the typical surgury we were expecting,it lasted 5 and half hours, and I was in intensive care unit for 2 and a half days.My tumor had a vein system of its own which my doctor had never seen before, I had a bleed that was almost impossible to get controlled.I recieved 6 units of blood and when the surgury was over they put me in a drug induced coma to keep me from moving so the bleed would stop. Before surgury GH was 12ngs. Igf1 was 811. Would like to hear from others if you had anything like this happen.Or share your experience.
